'Pure' DMAE (amine) is extremely alkaline and not suitable for DIY products. The amine form of DMAE must be neutralized to make it suitable for use on the skin. DMAE bitartrate (which is what this is) is neutralized with tartaric acid to make it usable for making in DIY products.
Recommended Usage Rate: 3% to 5%
